Co-benefits are often subject to uncertainty and depend on local circumstances and implementation practices, among other factors”. Following on from the discussions with the Nacala stakeholders in May 2019, Table 10 of the Nacala Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan illustrates the identified synergies, trade-offs and/ or co-benefits associated with the identified adaptation actions.Other, please specify: ICLEI - Local Governments for SustainabilityThe development of the Plan was divided into two separate phases: (1) two targeted workshops aimed at representatives from the sectors found to be the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change during the development of the Nacala Risk and Vulnerability Assessment; and (2) bi-lateral meetings with key stakeholders within Nacala to verify/ build upon information developed in the workshops.ICLEI hosted a 2 day workshop in March and a second one in May 2019. The aim was to facilitate discussion and multi-stakeholder interactions to build upon the work undertaken during the development of the Nacala Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (NR&VA) and support the co-development of the content of the Plan. Their were specifically targeted at representatives from the key sectors highlighted in the NR&VA as being the most vulnerable to climate hazards (water supply and sanitation sector; public health sector; food and agriculture sector; and environment, biodiversity and forestry sector). Stakeholders included representatives from ICLEI as well as representatives from multiple departments from within Nacala Municipality (including planning, public health, water and sanitation, education, environmental management, finance, information and communication, agriculture and several ward Councillors), as well as representatives from the private sector and local NGOs. The workshops were collectively used as a platform to co-develop an overarching adaptation goal as well as priority sector goals; develop realistic actions for each of the priority sectors to reduce each sectors’ vulnerability to the impacts of climate hazards affecting them; discuss the various synergies, trade-offs and co-benefits associated with each of the identified actions; prioritise actions that have the greatest potential to improve Nacala’s resilience to the impacts of climate change whilst at the same time support Nacala’s developmental aspirations; and lastly to consider the aspects required to develop the priority actions into implementable projects. ICLEI held bi-lateral meetings with representatives from the Nacala Municipality Planning and Information and Communication department as well as with local NGOs based in Nacala to build upon the information obtained during the workshop and additional contextual information pertaining to the adaptation actions proposed for inclusion in the Plan.Question not applicable

Emeryville's CAP represents a strong step in reducing emissions and building climate resilience. The plan strength stems from its conciseness and from a strict plan monitoring. Assessing the implementation status of the actions will allow determination of whether the action is performing well and it would allow to identify corrective measures. This process is also an opportunity to understand barriers to implementation and identify best practices or new opportunities moving forward.Relevant city departmentThe City of Emeryville was the first one in its County to adopt a CAP 2.0. The City plans to start the engagement process for updating its current CAP again, early in 2020. In the developing of CAP 2.0 the Council approved a Climate Change Task Force (CCTF). The CCTF had meetings throughout the 2015 and into 2016 that resulted into updating the previous Climate Action Plan.Question not applicable

In each of the categories – Prosperity, Neighbourhoods, Environment and Infrastructure, Mobility, and Organizational Innovation – adaptation and resilience actions are priorities, but co-benefits such as quality of life, safety, and engagement are also addressed.Dedicated city teamStakeholder meetings helped to inform the plan development and implementation process. Two initial diagnostic workshops with over 35 coordinators and managers from across the organisation were held to determine key shocksand stresses that are impacting, or likely to impact Wyndham now and into the future. Given the broad nature of resilience, a further 14 theme-based workshops with over 90 staff were held to shape targets and actions which provided the bestresilience outcomes for the City. COVID-19 Community Survey: A COVID-19 Community Survey was conducted in November 2020 to understand residents’ experiences and issues in the context of the Pandemic. Included in the survey was a question relating to the futurechallenges foreseen for Wyndham, which helped to form the shocks and stresses highlighted throughout this Strategy. The survey allowed the community to provide feedback on our recovery efforts, helping to guide the areas of focus to build resilience.Community Recovery Roundtables: Throughout September and October 2020, Council hosted a series of Community Recovery Roundtables with representatives across a range of sectors. These discussions allowed Council to identify keyopportunities and challenges in our community, as we deal with COVID-19. This valuable exercise assisted in understanding the sentiment and experiences of different sectors, helping to guide key areas of focus through recovery.A total of 17 roundtables were hosted.Formal Consultation Period: A four week consultation period took place between April - May 2021. This included the following: – ‘community conversations’ whereby residents were invited to have informal conversations around theStrategy – surveys and the collection of resilience stories via the Loop – community facilitated consultation, and – targeted engagement to Community Recovery Roundtable participants, teachers and Building Blocks alumni.Question not applicable
