In Bursa province with a surface area of 10,882 km2, there are 280 people per square kilometer. Bursa is the fourth largest city in Turkey with its population characteristics and the 2nd most populous city in the Marmara region. There are 17 districts and 1,060 neighborhoods in Bursa. The population growth rate of Bursa in 2017 was 12.13‰. Bursa, with a 155 meters elevation from the sea level, generally has a mild climate. However, it varies by climatic zones. Against the soft and warm climate of the Marmara Sea at north, Bursa is confronted by the harsh climate of Uludag at south. Surface shapes of the Province are in the forms of mountains with collapsed areas which are separated from each other with thresholds. Yenisehir, Bursa and Inegol plains and Iznik and Uluabat lakes are the primary collapsed areas. Mountains are generally in the form of chain of mountains running across the direction of east to west. The mountains are: Samanli Mountains that are located at the west of Orhangazi and west end of Gemlik gulf extending to Bozburun, Mudanya Mountains that covers the southern side of Gemlik Gulf and separates the Bursa plain from the sea, Katirli Mountains located between the south of Iznik Lake and northern section of Bursa plain, Karadag Mountain which is the extension of Mudanya Mountains and the highest mountain of Marmara Region being Uludag Mountain (2,543 m). Major rivers of the province are: Nilufer Steam, Goksu Steam, Koca Creek, Kara Creek and Aksu Creek which are fed by many streams that start from the southern slopes of Uludag and again generate from Uludag and lastly Mustafakemalpasa Stream.Bursa, which is one of the most important cities of Turkey, including historical, cultural and religious, as well as thermal tourism is also the biggest winter and nature sports center in Turkey with Uludag, and is the pearl of Marmara.Bursa is one of the important centers in our country with its temperate climate, special topography, fertile agricultural lands and richness of flora-fauna.Bursa, which ranks 4th in terms of the added value it provides to the country's economy, takes the second place after Istanbul with its exports. According to the 2017 data, 10% of Turkey's exports and 3.9% of Turkey's total imports are from Bursa. Compared to 2016, there was an increase of 9.6% in total exports made from Bursa in 2017. Exports of the industrial sector, agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry products constitute 94% of exports made from Bursa.In Bursa province, there are a total of 18 OIZs, including 10 hybrid, 4 specialized and 4 rehabilitation OIZs, as well as 2 other OIZs that continue to be established and registered, and 3 more to enter the rehabilitation process. In addition, there are 13 small industrial sites.Its production of raspberries, pears, blackberries, peas, tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, leeks and purslane ranks first in Turkey's total production. Its production of quince, olive (table), plum, pepper and dill are second in Turkey's production rankings. In addition, organic farming production started in 2004 is being carried out in 12 districts. Animal products are also an important source of income in Bursa. Bursa also has an important source of income with Cultural Tourism, Thermal Tourism, Winter Tourism, Nature Tourism and Gastronomy Tourism.
