218650380Municipio de BucaramangaColombiaLatin AmericaPublic2017In the INTEGRAL TERRITORIAL CLIMATE CHANGE MANAGEMENT PLAN OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SANTANDER - PIGCCTS - 2.1.5 Resilient and Healthy Urban Environments - The consequences of climate change jeopardize the expected results in terms of poverty reduction and Quality of life of the populations.According to the IPCC reports, climate change has direct and indirect impacts on the health and quality of life of populations, in the first case the effects as consequences of temperatures too high or low, loss of life and injuries in Floods and storms are examples of such situations. Indirect affectations include alteration of the range of disease vectors such as mosquitoes and water borne pathogens as well as water quality, air quality and food quality and availability. For the city of Bucaramanga taking into account the strategies established in the Municipal Development Plan, it is in the process of generating information and the matrix of determination of risks and probabilities.

219954405Vejle KommuneDenmarkEuropePublic2017Storm surgeExtremely seriousThe city of Vejle is situated between the largest subglacial stream in Denmark and a Fjord in the riverbed. The city is at risk of flooding, in case of a storm event raising the water level in the Baltic Sea and in case of heavy rain fall leading to runoff from the relatively large catchment area. But as values within the city a increasing so is the need to avoid flooding and handling the water runoff. The stormsurge is a threat and if it strong enough it can flood a big part of the city place in the valley and a lot of values will be lost. Finally we can conclude that the water flow in the city of Vejle is complex. The water from the fjord is led into the streams and the drainage systems. The water in the streeam will bed delayed and the water packs up and cases flooding of the area. The draninage systems are overloaded and water starts running on the surface. Because of these challenge the Danish Goverment has identified the area where there is a particular risk of flooding and is therefor covered by the EU flood directive. Therefore we have made a risk management plan for floodding. see this link https://www.vejle.dk/media/6060/risikostyringsplan-for-oversvoemmelser-vejle-midtby.pdfResidentialIndustrialWater Supply & Sanitation
