Esto genera que las personas no puedan obtener ingresos y no se desenvuelvan correctamente.

We also see more installations of air conditions, which is increasing energy use. In the hot summer of 2018, the region was hit by several large forest fires. According to national and international scenarios, we will see an increase in extreme weather in the future. The impact of these is therefore important to plan for.

The result was that important roads where cut of for traffic and the ambulances had to take longer routes to get to many homes. Increased precipitation might also have a future effect on the electrical distribution system, since warmer and more wet winters affects electrical poles and also cables.

It had consequenses for the most elderly and vulnerable part of the population. Approximately 700 inhabitants (mostly elderly) deceased during this heat wave. The high temperatures lead to a higher consumption of drinking water. There is a risk that the production of clean water will not meet the increased demand and lead to a water shortage. There is also a risk of people getting sick from bacterias that spread more easily in warm climate conditions.

It is hoped that in the future, high rainfall can be controlled either by replanting forests or by building flood control infrastructure.
