Upaya penurunan GRK sebagaimana komitmen nasional dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan skenario kenaikan emisi di masa yang akan datang.Berdasarkan total kontribusi kumulatifnya, maka sekitar 42% sumber emisi dikontribusikan oleh sektor penggunaan listrik pemukiman (sektor energi lainnya). Sektor Transportasi mengambil 31% total kontribusi. Kemudian limbah padat sebesar 13%.
