In addition, emissions from domestic transport (excluding domestic flights) will be reduced by at least 70 percent by 2030 compared with 2010. The overall goal for Örebro Municipality is to reach climate neutrality to 2045. Interim targets for Örebro Municipality is to reduce the climate impact (from energy and transport) by 100 percent per capita by 2045, 70 percent per capita by 2030, and 40 percent per capita by 2020, compared with 2000. For the geographical area, the interim targets in the strategy includes the sectors energy and transport. These are easier to make fossil free than other sectors, such as food production and imported products. The sectors energy and transport therefore need to take a larger part of the reduction. For example, Örebro municipality can reduce the climate impact from transport through sustainable urban planning for increased sustainable travel, place demands on suppliers during procurement and work with the municipality's own vehicle fleet and our own travel (in the organisation). Then we are dependent on instruments at the European and national level.Sweden has submitted as a European member to the NDC in 2015 (EU first NDC). The EU climate plan contains emission reductions of 40 percent by 2030, compared with 1990. Sweden’s national target for the non-trading sector has a higher level of ambition than Sweden’s commitment within the EU. | 153367 | 2018 | {"type"=>"Point", "coordinates"=>[15.2066, 59.2741]} | 2020-05-01T04:02:41.860
| 807 | 2019 | 43937 | Wellington City Council | Wellington | New Zealand | Southeast Asia and Oceania | CDP Cities, ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, WWF | public | City / Municipality | Base year emissions (absolute) target | All emissions sources included in city inventory | NA. | Same – covers entire city and nothing else | 2001 | 1105654 | 65 | 2040 | 0 | 0 | Other: Overarching reduction target | Do not know | Yes | Wellington City has a target of a 65% reduction by 2040 relative to 2001 levels. This target is not sector-specific. Between 2000/01 and 2014/15, Wellington City's gross emissions decreased by 2.1%. Wellington City is currently in the throes of implementing a roadmap to reach net zero emissions by 2050. Consultation finished in May on this plan (the First to Zero Carbon Capital Plan) and is set to be finalised in June. Furthermore, the Zero Carbon Bill has been introduced to Parliament in May to legislate for net zero GHG emissions by 2050, excluding biogenic methane - biogenic methane to be reduced between 24-47% below 2017 levels by 2050. The bill is set to come into force at the end of 2019. In this respect, 2019 is a pivotal year for Wellington and New Zealand's climate policy development and legislative target-setting. | 213847 | 2019 | {"type"=>"Point", "coordinates"=>[174.776, -41.2865]} | 2020-05-01T04:02:41.860 | ||||||

The base year emissions figure below reflects our recalculated base emissions (the 2010 inventory was recalculated as part of our 2015 re-inventory process to align our inventory to GPC Protocol and IPCC 5th AR). The % reported for "Percentage of target achieved so far" is based on our community wide emissions in 2015, 294,281 MTCO2e . | Same – covers entire city and nothing else | 2010 | 2015 | 338673 | 83 | 2050 | 57574 | 16 | Commercial buildings, Energy industry, Heating and cooling supply, Industrial facilities, Public facility, Residential buildings, Transport, Water | Do not know | Yes | California Executive Order S-3-05 established a long-range GHG reduction target of 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, required California to reduce statewide GHG emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. AB 32 also directed the Air Resources Board (ARB) to develop and implement regulations that reduce statewide GHG emissions. Many local governments do not have access to sufficient historical data to prepare a 1990 baseline emissions inventory, which would allow local governments to establish reduction targets that exactly mimic the state’s own targets. In its 2008 Scoping Plan, the ARB “encourages local governments to adopt a reduction goal for municipal operations emissions and move toward establishing similar goals for community emissions that parallel the state’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 15 percent from current levels by 2020.” Based on this language, many community-wide CAPs have selected a reduction target of 15% below baseline levels by 2020 to parallel the state’s target. Considering guidance from the Governor's Office of Planning and Research and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District at the time of CAP document preparation, Cupertino selected a reduction target of 15% below 2010 baseline levels by 2020 as a proxy for a return to 1990 levels. This 2020 target was also extrapolated to 2050 to determine what level of reductions the City would need to achieve 80% below 1990 levels, per the state’s long-term target. The City also developed an additional 2035 target to serve as a mid-point check-in between the 2020 and 2050 horizon years. | 60170 | 2018 | {"type"=>"Point", "coordinates"=>[-122.032, 37.323]} | 2020-05-01T04:02:41.860

| 152792 | 2018 | {"type"=>"Point", "coordinates"=>[-8.29224, 41.4443]} | 2020-05-01T04:02:41.860

New Zealand is on track to meet this target with a surplus of 96.8 units. Wellington City has a target of a 10% reduction by 2020 relative to 2001 levels. Between 2000/01 and 2014/15, Wellington City's gross emissions decreased by 2.1%. This target is not sector-specific.Wellington City is currently in the throes of implementing a roadmap to reach net zero emissions by 2050. Consultation has finished in May on this plan (the First to Zero Carbon Capital Plan) and is set to be finalised in June. Furthermore, the Zero Carbon Bill has been introduced to Parliament in May to legislate for net zero GHG emissions by 2050, excluding biogenic methane - biogenic methane is to be reduced between 24-47% below 2017 levels by 2050. The bill is set to come into force at the end of 2019. In this respect, 2019 is a pivotal year for Wellington and New Zealand's climate policy development and legislative target-setting. | 213847 | 2019 | {"type"=>"Point", "coordinates"=>[174.776, -41.2865]} | 2020-05-01T04:02:41.860
