| 114806 | CDP Cities 2016 | 55419 | City of Miramar | Governance | Governance | NotRepeatable | 1.1 | Cities-1.1-Governance | While our response is no, an in progress choice would be more appropriate. For over a decade and a half, the City has continued to recalibrate its policies to reduce its ecological footprint by pursuing sustainable opportunities and, most importantly, seeking to understand the magnitude to which a municipality can affect its surrounding environment and the immediate community. In most cases, it is the municipal services that most directly affect a residents world; services such as potable water, sanitary sewer, irrigation water and storm drainage may not be in our daily consciousness but are certainly needed for every-day functions. In addition, the way a city is designed affects not only how long it takes to go from one place to the next, but also important quality of life basics such as walkability, safety and healthy living. The City has always been involved in a degree of sustainable and green practices. As of late, the City is in the process of drafting a Climate Change Action Plan, a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Plan and a Transportation Plan which will be mutually exclusive but coordinate with each other to help measure, benchmark, encourage, educate and produce a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, green/sustainable development, mass transit and non-motorized transportation in addition to hard to quantify quality of life benefits. | 1 | Cities-1.1-C2-Description | 2 | ||||||
