Por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente, o município vem executando ações de restauração florestal no âmbito do Projeto Conservador das Águas, contribuindo tanto para a mitigação das emissões de gases de efeito estufa quanto para a produção de água, que abastece o Sistema Cantareira. Destaca-se, ainda, que em agosto de 2018 foi criado o Programa Extrema no Clima, a partir da Política Municipal de Combate às Mudanças Climáticas, instituída pela Lei nº 3.829/2018. O programa tem fomentado a busca pela melhoria das práticas organizacionais tanto do poder público municipal como do setor privado, visando aumentar a eficiência energética e reduzir o consumo de recursos naturais, de modo a reduzir as emissões de gases de efeito estufa, compensando apenas as emissões inevitáveis. Dessa forma, tal estabilidade política propicia tanto o fornecimento permanente de recursos para a execução de ações de monitoramento, fiscalização e controle da qualidade ambiental, quanto o compartilhamento de conhecimentos.24/06/2020 05:30:36
