As projeções climáticas para o município de Amarante apontam, para uma diminuição da precipitação total anual e para um aumento das temperaturas, em particular das máximas no outono e verão, intensificando a ocorrência de verões mais quentes e secos. Prevê-se, também aumento da frequência de ondas de calor e de eventos de precipitação intensa ou muito intensa. Estas alterações poderão implicar um conjunto de impactos sobre o território municipal bem como sobre os sistemas naturais e humanos que o compõem. Esta EMAAC foca-se na identificação de opções e ações de adaptação planeada que visem promover a minimização dos efeitos das alterações climáticas. A partir da identificação e priorização das atuais vulnerabilidades e riscos climáticos e da sua projeção até ao final do século, o município de Amarante procura promover um conjunto integrado de opções de adaptação para responder não apenas ao clima futuro, mas igualmente aos diferentes impactos climáticos já observados. Sendo esta a primeira estratégia do género no município pretende-se que seja um ponto de partida para o contínuo desenvolvimento de políticas territoriais coerentes, baseadas nas necessidades dos diferentes grupos populacionais e setores económicos e que permita um real reforço da resiliência climática do município e de quem nele habita ou visita. Apesar desta EMAAC se centrar necessariamente em questões relacionadas com a adaptação, o município reconhece que é igualmente essencial a adoção de respostas de mitigação, ou seja, de ações que promovam a redução das emissões de gases com efeito de estufa . Assim sendo o município promoverá, sempre que possível, a adoção de opções de adaptação que promovam igualmente a mitigação e que fomentem ‘o correto planeamento e desenvolvimento de uma sociedade e economia resiliente, competitiva e de baixo carbono’, tal como preconizado pela Estratégia Nacional de Adaptação às Alterações Climáticas 2020. | 24/06/2020 05:30:36 | |||
