521071CDP Cities 2018201831155City of Buenos AiresArgentinaLatin AmericaIntroduction0.1Please give a general description and introduction to your city including your city’s reporting boundary in the table below.2Description of city1City boundaryLa enmienda constitucional de 1994 otorgó la autonomía de la ciudad, cuyo nombre formal es: Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires.

In conjunction with the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods and Community Engagement, Mayor Barry’s Infrastructure Team is interested in re-launching sustainability goal-setting in the private/corporate sector via the Mayor’s Workplace Challenge, which was initiated under Mayor Karl Dean’s administration. Possible components include:- Increase Recycling: Companies and businesses could be encouraged to start and/or increase their recycling of a number of materials, including glass, food waste, and mixed paper. Encouraging businesses to separate their recycling streams results in a higher-value recycled product. - Food Rescue: Businesses, specifically restaurants and grocery stores, could also be challenged to reduce their food waste by 50%, by both composting and participating in food rescue efforts that match extra food from restaurants and grocery stores with local food banks and homeless shelters. Metro has already received interest from a major corporate sponsor.24/06/2020 05:28:18
