As global warming becomes more severe, the city government issued the “Renewable Energy Action Plan in Taipei City” in 2008 to promote the renewable energy policies and achieve the goal of using renewable energy as it has committed in the Urban Environmental Accords. Aside from its advocates on education, energy conservation, carbon reduction and the application of renewable energy, it also distributes the budget for the affiliated institutions and schools, provides subsidies to the private industries and businesses that set up a solar and photovoltaic power system, employs professional institutions to make research plans on renewable energy development mechanisms, and passes and carries out the policies on the utilization of renewable energy.2. In 2015, Taipei City Government announced a solar power system setup regulation to help increase the will of manufacturers to set up solar photovoltaic; the city government provides the spare land, and the manufacturers contribute the finance to build the solar photovoltaic system. A specific proportion of electricity sales income would be returned to the government as venue rental fee.3. At the end of 2017, the city had set up a total of 8,870 solar photovoltaic power generation systems, it was estimated that it could generate about 8.09 million kWh per year, equivalent to reduce about 4,281 metric tons carbon dioxide emissions.24/06/2020 05:28:18
