It is also known as Integrated Coastal Resource Management Project (ICRMP) that promotes “Ridge-to-Reef” approach in managing coastal resources, this approach determines the threats in the upland, lowlands and coastal areas. ICM aims to balance the environmental, economic, social, cultural and recreational sectors within the natural sustainable limits. The development of coastal resources will result to a sustainable environment that will support the livelihood, eco-tourism, industrial and other socio-economic activities in the city.The City is currently updating its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and based on the Executive Order (EO) 533 issued last June 06, 2006, mandating the adoption of the Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) as a national strategy to ensure sustainable management of the country’s coastal and marine resources. LGU should be the frontline of ICM in terms of planning and implementation. The capacity of it will enable the waste water to be collected on the entire territory of the City. This means that the need for septic tanks will be stopped.o The City was setting up a local warning system for bad weather conditions (via the website of the City, local communities, and local media). It is mean that sheere information about weather forecast related to: warming events, strong rain / flooding, water shortage.
