For our own operations, CoA has a draft Zero and Low Carbon Emissions Vehicle Procurement Plan. During 2018-19, further work will be undertaken to finalise the Plan to transition to: • low or zero emissions fuel, including the use of biodiesel or other fuel substitutions; • EVs subject to market availability, lifecycle cost and fit for purpose; and • hydrogen vehicles subject to future refuelling opportunities. The CoA’s Sustainability Incentives Scheme currently provides financial rebates of up to $1,000 for each fast charger and up to $5,000 for each super-fast charger installed in the city. The Scheme is currently under review to ensure rebates align with community need, industry feedback, technology advancements, investment attraction opportunities and market developments. CoA is currently rolling out 40 EV changing points through a partnership with the Government of South Australia, SA Power Networks, Mitsubishi Motors Australia and Tesla. To maximise accessibility, there is a mix of on street and off-street services positioned around the city. On-street charging stations include the CoA EV Charging Hub at 109 Franklin Street., which provides EV charging services compatible with all current plug-in EV models for up to 8 vehicles. 6 additional on street charging points will be installed at 3 strategic locations by the end of the FY. 30 off street changing points are being installed at 4 CoA UParks. At two of the large EV charging station installations (Central Market & Rundle St Upark), CoA has deployed an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to EV Parking System in collaboration with AZZO and Nilsen. The system couples existing commercially available technologies to create a new active parking management system that enables a rapid rollout of EV charging stations in off-street public car parks. By matching EV parking space availability to actual demand, an accelerated rollout of charging stations is enabled as lost revenue from vacant EV parking spaces is minimised; EV owner confidence of an available parking space is strengthened; and inconvenience to ICE vehicles is avoided during peak parking periods. | 24/06/2020 05:30:36 | |||
