A unit in the municipality works particularly with supporting the local business environment and development and a strong collaboration with universities is supported by politicians and encompasses the work in many departments. When developing the city's master plan (an update is currently in progress), different stakeholder groups have a chance to influence the outcome. When it comes to projects relating to water and waste, there is a close collaboration with neighbouring municipalities in order to increase efficiency as well as with the region/county when it comes to areas of national interest such as the airport and nature reserves. For many years the municipality has been part of the CERO Project (Climate and Economic research in organisations) which supports organisations in finding economically sustainable strategies to reach their climate goals in the transport/travel sector. They analyze in cooperation with the municipality business trips and commuter trips and find ways to achieve climate goals with the greatest economic savings potential. For example it has become apparent that a large part of the transport emissions in the municipality come from car journeys shorter than 3km. This allows for a better opportunity to implement strategies to reduce that impact while also saving money.24/06/2020 05:30:36
