The latest iteration of these laws includes: SB 32, effective January 1, 2017, which requires a 40% reduction in statewide GHG emissions below 1990 levels by 2030; SB 350, signed October 2015, which increases the state’s renewable procurement goal to 50% by 2030 as well as doubles statewide energy efficiency savings in electricity and natural gas end uses by 2030. Additional longer-term goals include 80% reduction in statewide GHG emissions below 1990 levels by 2050 (EO S-3-05), a 10% reduction in carbon intensity of transportation fuels by 2020 (EO S-1-2007), and zero net energy goals for buildings by 2030. While to date, these regulations do not delineate specific GHG reduction targets for local cities, West Hollywood's Climate Action Plan is designed to support state and regional goals for GHG and air quality and calls for a reduction of GHG emissions of 20-25% by 2035.24/06/2020 05:28:18
