The City has partnered with the local North Shore Chamber of Commerce and ClimateSmart in offering training to dozens of businesses since 2010. The City has also promoted the provincial LiveSmart BC Small Business Program, which provides a free Business Energy Advisor service to interested businesses. The program connects businesses with utility incentives to implement projects to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs. In 2014, 15 businesses completed the program, amounting to approximately 45,000 kWh in energy savings. The City also worked with ClimateSmart to complete a business energy and emission profile (BEEP) to better understand the emissions generated by local businesses.
