This includes all Scope 1 emissions of the City such as fuel used in buildings, industries (production emission), transportation, wastewater management from residential and agricultural sources. In addition, some emissions occurring outside the geographic boundaries of the LGU were also included, if driven by (consumption) choices made within the LGU. These represent the ‘plus’ in the ‘geographic plus’ approach and, in the case of Santa Rosa consist of scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity and Scope 3 emissions from solid waste disposed outside the City boundaries.Only the GHG-intensive industrial processes based were selected for the inventory. This is because the inventory was completed primarily in accordance with the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National GHG inventories. For the computation of Santa Rosa’s emissions from industrial process, the Tier 1 method was utilized for semiconductor/electronics manufacturing and for glass manufacturing, while for air-conditioning manufacturing, the methodology and default values were derived from the New Zealand Ministry of Environment, 2011 Guidance for Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Accounting. For agriculture, the activity data used are hectares of rice cultivation, livestock population, and volume of crop production. These were chosen because data was readily available or could be collected by the LGU in the timeframe provided for the inventory. | 24/06/2020 05:30:36 | ||
