The plan will investigate impacts of extreme heat on the focus areas of infrastructure, natural resources and socioeconomic sector. Strategies for adaptation, including working with stakeholder to develop a heat emergency plan, increase access to energy efficient and clean building cooling technology, mapping high heat vulnerability zones, expansion of cooling centers, public awareness and emergency preparedness education, and a special emphasis on health and safety of vulnerable populations is being considered in the plan. The City is in the process of getting input from the Plan's Technical Advisory Committee, stakeholders engaged with vulnerable populations, and the public, and will be analyzing the feedback for incorporation into the final plan this fall.
