Lies at the delta of 13 rivers with 40% of the land is below Mean Sea Level. Jakarta is vulnerable to climate risks, i.e. extreme changes of rainfall pattern and sea level rise resulting in urban floods. Considering its roles, both as the Capital City and center for economic and business, Jakarta must be prepared with short and long term plans to improve Jakarta’s resilience towards climate change impacts. Around 65.000 Ha at northern part of Jakarta, is a low-land, lies below Mean Sea Level. This area is prone to flood that caused by high tide due to the increasing of Mean Sea Level by 0.5 cm as an impact of global warming as well as land subsidence by 0.5 cm per year.
