Increased rain intensity and frequency will likely exacerbate this stormwater problem. As a result, the City has received substantial grant funding from the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources, and various other organizations. The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority has also provided more than $10 million dollars in low interest loans to the City, largely going to green infrastructure. Furthermore, the City has instituted a stormwater utility fee that is providing several million dollars a year and is anticipated to dramatically increase over the next 5 years, helping to pay back the $10M state PENNVEST loan and continuing to provide grant assistance for green infrastructure to landowners in the City.24/06/2020 05:28:18
