Por ello la Dirección General de Gestión Ambiental ha implementado un sistema de captación de energía eléctrica mediante la instalación de paneles solares para el suministro del 90% de la demanda de energía proveniente de las actividades desarrolladas por la DGGA. Con esto la Dirección General de Gestión Ambiental se convierte en la primera dependencia del municipio en abastecerse de energías limpias como la solar. Con este proyecto la Dirección General de Gestión Ambiental, busca generar mayor conocimiento en toda la población, sobre el funcionamiento y beneficios económicos y ambientales de las celdas solares, convirtiéndose en un proyecto de cultura ambiental. Con la adquisición del sistema fotovoltaico, conformado por 40 paneles solares que en conjunto generan mensualmente 1368.75 kWh, las oficinas públicas obtienen al menos el 70% del suministro de energía que se requiere para el funcionamiento de esta dependencia. Dicha infraestructura, es altamente amigable con el medio ambiente, logrando la reducción del contaminante CO2 por más de 4 toneladas al año, lo que equivale a plantar 203 árboles en el mismo periodo. El proyecto funge como una plataforma educativa para la adopción de energías renovables en el municipio, tanto al interior de la administración como para la población en general. La instalación de esta infraestructura, cuenta con un sistema de monitoreo sobre la producción diaria, mensual y anual de energía eléctrica que generan las celdas, la cual está al alcance de los ciudadanos y puede ser revisada a través del portal de internet de la Dirección General de Gestión Ambiental. El reporte de la reducción de los GEI de esta acción están calculados con base en el periodo de vida de los paneles solares considerando un periodo de 20 años.Existe un error en la plataforma que elimina ciertos números por lo que los campos correspondientes en la siguiente lista, serán colocados en el apartado de enlace.
