Es claro que la operación de este sistema no garantiza continuidad de 24 horas en la época de invierno, y el cumplimiento cabal con la resolución 2115 del 2007 con respecto a parámetros de Color y Turbiedad en el agua tratada. Como solución emergente se construyeron pozos profundos para abastecimiento con agua subterránea para el acueducto, dado que las condiciones de calidad y cantidad de las fuentes superficiales no permiten garantizar la continuidad en la prestación del servicio. Estos pozos se encuentran en operación, cuentan con plantas de potabilización operadas y controladas durante el bombeo de agua a la red de acueducto, sin embargo, se pueden considerar como soluciones parciales con el agravante de los altos costos de operación que demanda un sistema de estas características.
