Mahasarakham Municipality has studied the ways to reduce the electricity consumption which led to become a proposal submitted to the Ministry of Energy for funding under Increasing Energy Efficiency of Government Organizations project. Mahasarakham Municipality received the funding at 56,000,000 baht to execute as follows: 1) replacing the old light bulbs with 400 LED bulbs in 2 secondary roads, 2 public parks 2) installing solar street lights in 7 schools 3) replacing the old air conditioners with the new 84 energy saving air conditioners in municipal buildings and 7 municipal schools 4) installing 1 solar rooftop system on a municipal building. Moreover, the municipality has operated to make the plans/projects become sustainable by setting policies for municipal officers to follow, and providing knowledge and understanding for local people who are stakeholders of the project. Thus, if the municipality can execute the project successfully, the municipality can definitely move towards the goal of GHG emission reduction from electricity consumption.24/06/2020 05:30:36
