The City's 2009 Greenprint ( http://www.gcpvd.org/images/reports/2008-10-greenprint.pdf ), and 2014 Sustainable Providence (http://www.providenceri.com/efile/5705) demonstrate the City's commitment to addressing the threats of climate change. The 2014 plan is being updated to include climate mitigation and adaptation. The City's Environmental Task Force updated the plan in 2017, and made additional recommendations to the Mayor. Beyond this, the Office of Sustainability has developed an online City sustainability dashboard to track municipal and City-wide metrics such as municipal and residential energy use, recycling rates and other related information and data. This dashboard went live in 2017, and shows the City's progress in sustainability efforts in seven topic areas: waste, food, transportation, water, energy, climate, and land use and development. The Providence Emergency Management agency is scheduled to update their hazard mitigation plan in the next two years. In February 2016, the Office of Sustainability hosted a climate change resiliency lab. A Design and Resilience Team (DART) comprising of architects, designers, and city planners from around the country along with City leadership and roughly 200 community participants, gathered for three days to identify strategies for making Providence more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
