The City implemented a new Energy Management System (EMS) to manage these components. The EMS uses the City’s network to communicate with five facilities and includes programming to respond to Southern California Edison (SCE) Demand Response events. • In 2016, the City completed a project to retrofit an extra 1,491 streetlights in the City with new energy efficient light fixtures. The City uses technologies that reduce energy use such as motion detectors on HVAC and lighting systems, programming the EMS to cut the use of electricity, and shutting off computers and lights at night and when they are not in use for extended periods.24/06/2020 05:30:36
