SE FL regional climate compact through sea level rise task force- link documentSalt Water Intrusion- Along with the collaboration with USGS on the USLR projection, we also completed a salt water intrusion assessment. This assessment looked into the potential effects on our underground freshwater aquifer through 2060.Shoreline Resiliency- The county has completed vulnerability assessments and set goals to assure our beaches are resilient with dunes along at least 80 percent of the shoreline.Coastal Community Vulnerability Assessments- Broward completed a vulnerability assessment of 13 coastal communities. The document includes both county and regional policies, and technical documents to help aid in the development of local mitigation and adaptation strategies. This vulnerability assessment identified infrastructure vulnerable tot he effects of sea level rise.Overall, Broward County published a Climate Action Plan with local strategy to address global climate change.
