In 2017, approximately 5% of Cleveland’s workforce was employed in industries that align closely with the CAP focus areas. On average, the average annual wages of workers in these industries in Cleveland were $7,170 greater (or 13% greater) than average annual wages of workers in all industries in Cleveland. Looking to the next decade, forecasts show that these focus area-aligned industries are expected to grow slightly. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES TAKING CLIMATE ACTION:The City of Cleveland’s Office of Sustainability engaged BrownFlynn, a leading CSR and ESG consulting firm, to analyze publicly available ESG data for the largest public companies in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. The purpose of this analysis is to better understand sustainable business practices and support, promote and recognize their climate actions. This helps businesses with investors and other key stakeholders, who are using this information to evaluate companies globally.EQUITYMore than 20 organizations worked together to develop and utilize a Racial Equity Tool to inform and improve the Climate Action Plan. The goal is to ensure a just distribution of the benefits of climate protection efforts and to advance racial equity and shared prosperity. Throughout the CAP, those actions that will serve to advance equity are highlighted. | 24/06/2020 05:30:36 | |||
