El CeMCAQ es la referencia estatal de calidad del aire. El funcionamiento y operación del CeMCAQ están orientados a proveer información que sirva para proteger la salud de la población y para generar insumos de calidad del aire útiles en la formulación de políticas ambientales y para la planeación estratégica del desarrollo del Estado de Querétaro. Se cuenta con 7 estaciones de monitoreo localizadas en puntos estratégicos de la Ciudad de Querétaro y de los municipios de El Marqués, Corregidora y San Juan del Río. En el municipio de Querétaro se tienen cuatro ubicadas en las delegaciones: Félix Osores FEO, Carrillo Puerto CAP, Bomberos BOM y Auditorio Josefa Ortiz AJO. En 2015, el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) del Estado de Querétaro fue de 402,829 millones de pesos corrientes, con lo que se aportó 2.35% al PIB nacional.
