Following our example, more than 25 other Virginia communities followed our lead. This resulted in a significant expansion of solar jobs not only in our community, but across the state. Since the Solarize programs have come to a close, Blacksburg's two solar installers have seen a significant shift in the durability of the solar market. They report three positive outcomes: 1) improved pricing from distributors now that they're able to buy in bulk rather than job by job, 2) They’ve improved the efficiency of their process, and 3) their volume is up about 30% compared to what is was before the program was first launched. Likewise, we have made a deliberate effort to get our local solar and energy efficiency contractors to work together on their marketing approach rather than as competitors: to offer a "getting to net zero" strategy where they work with their respective clients to figure out the best balance of efficiency + renewables that would work best for their situation. | 24/06/2020 05:30:36 | |||
