El mismo que consiste en una secuencia de rocas sedimentarias y volcánicas formadas en un ambiente marino las que se formaron durante el Mesozoicomedio. La alteración y desintegración de las rocas produce sedimentos y son acumulados por los agentes de erosión (río Chillón y río Rímac) formando los materiales de cobertura.1.1.3 FLORA Y FAUNASegún información proporcionada por el INEI, dentro de la Provincia del Callao el distrito que cuenta con la mayor cantidad de áreas verdes es el Callao (57% del total de la Provincia) que conserva 107.3 Ha. de áreas verdes. En la Provincia el tipo de área verde con que se cuenta son los parques con 93.2 Ha.La Fauna, es muy diversa, aun cuando casi siempre nos referimos o se presta mayor atención al ambiente marino sin embargo, en el ámbito terrestre existen varios grupos muy bien representados según su diversidad biológica (Filo Protozoos, Filo Moluscos, Filo Artrópodos, Filo Corbados, Clase mamíferos, Clase anfibios, Clase reptiles y Clase aves)1.1.4 CLIMAPor su muy baja altitud la ciudad portuaria debería tener un clima cálido, sin embargo, debido a las aguas frías del mar de la Corriente de Humboldt se forman nubes estrato; esto hace que el Callao tenga un clima templado, húmedo y muy nuboso en invierno, cálido en verano, y semi-cálido en primavera, similar al de la ciudad de Lima.
