131320Cities 2020202031051Coventry City CouncilUnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern IrelandEuropeEnergy8.4How much (in MW capacity) renewable energy is installed within the city boundary in the following categories?2Comment2Solar PVThrough the ongoing RESO project we have started to get better visibility of this. As part of this we have found that approximately 9GWh of energy is generated through Domestic PV installations in the city which equates to approximately 0.5% of the city’s electrical demand. This will only include generation reported through the Feed-in-Tariff scheme. Any installations undertaken that are not part of that scheme would not be included. A further 15GWh (0.9% of demand) is currently met from the Energy From Waste plant at Whitley. From a capacity perspective, these will have generally low utilisation rates (~12%) so generate a less energy per kVA capacity. It doesn’t include installations that do not have licence to export (ie. companies that use the energy fully within their own facilities) and also does not provide the actual energy generated. Depending on the technology and the application the amount generated could vary significantly. We are working in the RESO project to try and gather historic data to enable trending of capacity in Coventry.7,594 kVA07/16/2021 01:47:15

Almost 83,000 San Jose households already have an energy burden of 5% or higher (meaning that 5% or more of their income goes to electricity and natural gas bills - https://public.tableau.com/profile/the.greenlink.group#!/vizhome/SanJose01_15/Dashboard1). As the number of extreme heat days and heat waves increases, therefore, low-income households will increasingly have to choose between cooling their homes and paying for other basic necessities such as food and healthcare.07/16/2021 01:47:15

Description

This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains the full responses of publicly disclosing cities in 2020. To view the complete cities 2020 questionnaire guidance, including all questions asked in 2020, visit https://www.cdp.net/en/guidance/guidance-for-cities. Please contact cities@cdp.net if you have any questions.
When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.
Please note that this dataset may contain data from cities or, in some instances, groups of cities at different administrative levels. This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and 5 American regional councils, which are: Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metropolitan Council, Twin Cities; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Mid-America Regional Council.
