Please also select the most relevant assets or services that are affected by the climate hazard and provide a description of the impact.12Please describe the impacts experienced so far, and how you expect the hazard to impact in the future6Bay Area had been in the midst of a historic 5 year drought. In 2014, the Governor declared a state of emergency in California in response to the drought conditions which began in 2012. The year 2015 surpassed 1977 as the driest year on record in California. In June 2015, statewide reservoirs were at only 18-65% average. Although, the winter of 2016 eased drought conditions that the Governor ended the state of emergency in April 2017, 2017/2018 winter saw a less than average rainfall for Emeryville and the Bay Area. . However, the 2018-2019 winter has proved to be an abnormal year for rain. These being said, climate change is likely to increase the number and severity of future droughts. The cumulative impact of climate change will result in drier conditions for the entire City of Emeryville and could alter the timing and efficiency of the Bay Area water supply.07/16/2021 01:47:15
