High voltage lines will experience some sagging, but if they failed the impacts could be more widespread and significant. A major power outage affecting the downtown core would have major impacts.Information and communications infrastructure, primarily microwave towers, could also be impacted by freezing rain causing service losses. Indirect impacts associated with power outages and telecommunication disruption could be widespread, and affecting multiple service areas: water supply, buildings, rail transport, public health and safety and the economy.
