We have a large, privately owned, urban demonstration farm in our downtown area which hosts frequent training sessions to teach people how to perform smaller-scale urban farming on their own. The city also has an extensive community garden program with various plots spread throughout the town. These gardens have also been strategically placed in lower-income neighborhoods to allow low-income families to grow their own food. This greatly increases their access to quality, fresh, produce. These community gardens and urban agriculture scenes are important enhancers to our climate resilience because it decreases our dependence on commercial farms which transport food vast distances to our city. It is importance because it increases the economic resilience of lower-income families taking advantage of the community garden system.07/16/2021 01:47:15

Please also select the most relevant assets or services that are affected by the climate hazard and provide a description of the impact.12Please describe the impacts experienced so far, and how you expect the hazard to impact in the future4Regarding the risk of extreme weather disasters (whirlwinds), it shows that there are several sub-districts at high mental exposure compared to other sub-districts, namely Bojong Gede, Cibinong, Cileungsi, and Gunung Putri Districts, which have a potential life span of up to 300,000 people per district. against extreme weather disasters (tornado). Gunung Putri sub-district appears to have the highest number of people exposed to disasters, reaching 450,000 in the high-risk class. In addition, Bojong Gede, Cibinong, Cileungsi and Gunung Putri Subdistricts also have the potential for substantial losses to extreme weather disasters (whirlwinds), which is more than 300 billion Rupiah. Cibinong Subdistrict appears to have the highest losses compared to other sub-districts in Bogor Regency, reaching 557 billion Rupiah. This is because the sub-district is the center of activity and the region with the fastest economic growth, especially the losses to public facilities and critical facilities in the sub-district in the event of this disaster.Based on the matrix for determining the level of threat of extreme weather disasters in Bogor Regency, the high threat level with a high / medium hazard index and a high / medium exposed population index indicates that almost all areas of Bogor Regency have a high level of extreme weather threat, especially in the North and Central parts of the Regency. Bogor. Several villages that have a high level of extreme weather threat include Sukaharja Village in Cijeruk District, Sukmajaya Village in Tajur Halang District, Cipinang Village in Rumpin District, Pondok Rajeg Village in Cibinong District and Cinangneng Village in Tenjolaya District. The extreme weather hazard map shows that areas that have a high level of extreme weather threat, in this case whirlwinds, are areas with high land openness with sloping and wide topographical conditions. It is hoped that in the short or soon period of time, the frequency of the impact of the Tornado hazard in the vulnerable areas will decrease by improving the disaster response management system.07/16/2021 01:47:15

151321Cities 2020202035993Singapore GovernmentSingaporeSoutheast Asia and OceaniaWater SecurityWater Supply Management14.3Please select the actions you are taking to reduce the risks to your city’s water security.4Action description and implementation progress8With climate change, we expect more extreme and unpredictable weather, with more frequent and intense storms. To reduce flood risks, we embarked on the “Source-Pathway-Receptor” approach to stormwater management. It reduces the risks not just along drains and canals (“Pathways”) that convey stormwater, but also in areas that generate runoff (“Source”) and areas where floodwaters may flow to (“Receptors”). 1) Since 2014, new developments and redevelopments 0.2ha or larger in size must have on-site measures to slow down the flow of peak runoff from these “Sources” into the public drainage system. 2) We will continue to widen and deepen Singapore’s waterways, and look into constructing centralised detention tanks and diversion canals, to boost the capacity of the “Pathways”. 3) As part of the “Receptor” measures, developments must meet minimum platform and crest level requirements to prevent them from being flooded.07/16/2021 01:47:15

Description

This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains the full responses of publicly disclosing cities in 2020. To view the complete cities 2020 questionnaire guidance, including all questions asked in 2020, visit https://www.cdp.net/en/guidance/guidance-for-cities. Please contact cities@cdp.net if you have any questions.
When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.
Please note that this dataset may contain data from cities or, in some instances, groups of cities at different administrative levels. This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and 5 American regional councils, which are: Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metropolitan Council, Twin Cities; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Mid-America Regional Council.
