157123Cities 20202020839673Municipalidad Distrital de Jesús MaríaPeruLatin AmericaClimate Hazards and VulnerabilityClimate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment2.0aPlease select the primary process or methodology used to undertake the risk and vulnerability assessment of your city.2Description1Risk assessment methodologyMunicipalities in Peru assume a series of competencies that allow them to have functions to propose measures to anticipate the possible effects of climate change. Mainly, these competencies have been established according to Law No. 27972: Organic Law of Municipalities (Law No. 27972, Organic Law of Municipalities, 2003), as well as Law No. 30754 Framework Law on Climate Change of Peru, but in addition to the regulations at the national level (Ordinance No. 1852-MML for the Conservation and Management of Green Areas in the Province of Lima, 2014) (Law No. 27181, General Law of Transport and Land Transit, 1999). In this sense, the Municipality of Jesús María, together with the Cities for Life Forum in Peru, developed a process to identify the dangers and vulnerabilities to climate change. This process was carried out by attending the workshops at the national level.Initially, in order to qualitatively assess vulnerability concerning local conditions and to prioritize the specific needs of the municipality, the Assessment Table of the liking of being affected was completed, indicating the level of vulnerability as low (score 1), medium (score 2), high (score 3) or very high (score 4) [...]. For this, the approved and current Disaster Risk Management Plan of the Municipality of Jesús María was reviewed. Additionally, as support, questions were answered throughout the workshops to evaluate the vulnerability of the district. In this way, we had a general vision of the consequences and defined the potential losses and damages of climate change that directly affect Jesús María.As a second step, the octagon was used to identify the degree of affectation in the face of climatic hazards. This aims to quickly identify the direct climate hazards affecting the district and, in this way, process, prioritize, and collect the information.07/16/2021 01:47:15
