This has been developed in tandem with environment policies and so planning policies have been designed to contribute to meeting the Mayor's objectives around greenhouse gas emission reduction, low carbon and clean energy and adaptation and resilience. Specific policies include a net zero carbon building standards and requirements to reduce whole life-cycle carbon emissions (including embodied carbon from construction) and report energy performance post-construction. In 2018 developments approved by the Mayor achieved on average a 36.9 per cent reduction on national Building Regulations, surpassing the London Plan target of a 35 per cent reduction. This is estimated to save over 39,000 tonnes CO2 per annum and deliver over £94m investment in heat network infrastructure, £7m in solar PV panels, £470,000 savings from investment in energy efficiency and additional investment in other technologies to assist the transition to zero carbon, most notably heat pumps.07/16/2021 01:47:15

In Örebro Municipality, we work anyway with sustainable food. All municipal kitchens and restaurants work to prepare and serve "Smarter Food". "Smarter food" is our platform to reduce the climate and environmental impact of the food. This means that the majority of the raw food are organic, that we choose Swedish meat, the fish we use is environmentally sustainable and with minimal impact on the ecosystem. that we choose fruits and vegetables according to season and cook from the ground. Our goal is also to reduce food waste. The starting point for "Smarter food" is the political goals according to the municipality's climate strategy. ´The political goals are: -the proportion of organic food should be at least 80 percent by 2020;-the proportion of locally produced food should be at least 20 percent by 2020;-the amount of food waste should amount to a maximum of 10 percent by 2020,-the climate impact per kilo of purchased food will, by choice of raw food, be reduced by 20 percent by 2020.We also have political goals for ethical purchasing, since Örebro has been a Fairtrade City since 2007. All purchases of coffee, tea, bananas, cocoa and drinking chocolate and 50 percent of chocolate confectionery shall be ethically labeled by 2020. All restaurants (within preschools, schools and eldery care) are KRAV-certified.Simply Smarter Food!Link: https://www.orebro.se/fordjupning/fordjupning/sa-arbetar-vi-med/maltider-i-kommunens-kok-och-serveringar.html07/16/2021 01:47:15
