319549Cities 2020202058395Bærum KommuneNorwayEuropeWaste13.0What is the annual solid waste generation in your city?3Please describe the methodology used to calculate the annual solid waste generation in your city1Please completeIn Bærum municipality, the pollution and waste management group collects and controls all household waste in the municipality. Household waste includes food waste, residual waste, paper and cardboard, and plastic. There are also return points/green points for hazardous waste, glass and metal. All of the abovementioned types of wastes are collected by garbage trucks. All trucks are weighed so it is possible to get information about how much waste is collected each day. The recycling station in Bærum receives waste from households and small businesses. Here, each car is weighed in order to get information about how much waste ends up at the recycling station. Inside the recycling station, the waste is sorted and weighed before leaving the station for further treatments. Thus, we know how many tonnes we have of each waste type. Bærum is in the process of taking over the renovation and waste collection from all municipal buildings, including offices, libraries, nursing homes, schools, and kindergartens. We do not have numbers for the amount of waste from such types of buildings yet.07/16/2021 01:47:15
