Various studies on DHF in the area have verified that is an epidemic in Tarakan City. This is due to the lack of clean water access, which forced the community to use rainwater openly, causing mosquitoes to grow feely. The open water reservoir became a place for it to breed, increasing the risk of dengue fever. The anti-dengue cover nets, usually referred to as Topi Anti DBD were used to cover the water reservoir. This net is a cover for water containers that prevent s the mosquitoes from breeding in the water. It is made of perforated mesh fabric with a tiny diameter to reduce the risk of contamination of the water by mosquitoes. TAD was also designed with pores that can accommodate rainwater harvesting. The acronym TAD was suggested by the Tarakan Health Office to help people remember it easily. The additional, the communities of 29 RTs in Kelurahan Selumit Pantai were trained and assisted in making their own TAD's by using a simple sewing machine.07/16/2021 01:47:15
