Egedal takes resource and environmental problems seriously and wants to do something about them locally, although the challenges are often of a global nature. Especially in the waste area, Egedal will work with circular economy, where the waste must be considered as resources, where we generally have to use our things longer and pass them on for use as they are or as a new product when we are done with them.- The goal is for a minimum of 50% of household waste to be recycled by 2022, and for us to collect 75% of the electronics marketed and 55% of the batteries by 2018, which will meet national targets for increased recycling.- The overall target of 50% of household waste being recycled has been reached. This is mainly due to the collection and recycling of food waste for biogas and compost, supplemented by wood for recycling collected at the recycling stations, and the traditional collection of glass and paper in cubes.
