Local Government and State Government agencies are already involved in significant amounts of work that will improve the management of stormwater. While these actions contribute to building adaptive capacity, the Region’s stakeholders identified that within five years, current practice will no longer be sufficient to manage stormwater as the climate changes. CoA and Resilient East have been focusing on several studies to assist in changing practices to being more water sensitive – i.e. studies that use tools to monetise the benefits of water sensitive urban design, to capture business cases through their benefits, increasing case studies, trialling new solutions and internal staff capacity building of staff that are responsible for decision-making and design of stormwater and streetscape upgrades. We have also been making contributions into the State Planning reform which relates to how stormwater is managed by private realm and development. | 07/16/2021 01:47:15 | |||
