Ahmedabad is situated on bank of the river Sabarmati, which is one of the longest rivers of Gujarat State, bifurcates the Ahmedabad city into eastern and western parts. Ahmedabad is well connected with various cities in state as well as other parts of the country through air, rail and road transport. Ahmedabad experiences three distinct seasons of summer, monsoon and winter. Maximum temperature in Ahmedabad throughout all seasons is varying from 28˚C to 41.5 ˚C, while lower temperature is varying from 12 ˚C to 27.5 ˚C. Monsoon season starts in city from month of June to September. Average annual rainfall in year 2019 was 863.8mm with average 86 rainy days.The city is the second largest producer of cotton in India and is known as Manchester of India. Ahmedabad’s stock exchange is the country's second oldest. It is also a major industrial and financial city contributing about 14% of the total investments in all stock exchanges in India and 60% of the total productivity of the state.
