The GARID has been conceptualised to deal with regulatory capacity building through the use of data systems2. Data Infrastructure development of the GARID is utilising smartphone mobile technologies to populate user data on flood risk assets in local communities3. There is a waste management component of the GARID that recognises that 5 percent of Accra's waste is unaccounted for. In most cases, it is presumed that such uncollected waste ends up in drainage infrastructure hence the need to provide auxiliary infrastructure to facilitate waste evacuation; develop engineered land fill sites. Other initiatives under waste management is to provide waste transfer stations to serve as interface between local informal collectors and the metropolitan Assembl4. Increase the capacity of the Odaw river basin to retain surface run-off.Progress of work for a Climate Action Plan; facilitated and supported by C40 is still at the stakeholder engagement and inventory data update levels.Even though Accra has completed a Resilience Strategy document which provides context for sector level envisioning of climate action objectives , a climate action plan will elaborate on specific outputs with measurement indicators to verify whether the city's commitment are reflected in its activity-budget framework07/16/2021 01:47:15
