Esse espaço não é homogêneo e apresenta-se ora concentrado, ora desconcentrado, ora antigo, ora recente. São diferentes realidades que se refletem inclusive na arborização urbana.A arborização da cidade atua no Plano de Redução de Emissões de Gases de Efeito Estufa (GEE), no Setor de Desenvolvimento Urbano Sustentável, e prevê o plantio de 30 mil (trinta mil) mudas até 2020, reduzindo em 3.619 tCOe nas emissões de GEE a partir desse ano. Até 2037, ano do Recife 500 anos, estima-se um impacto acumulado de 83.237 tCO2e.Além da redução das emissões de GEE, a vegetação existente no ambiente urbano colabora significativamente com a amenização da temperatura, evitando o surgimento das chamadas “ilhas de calor”. Assim, busca-se priorizar o plantio nas áreas mais carentes de arborização, proporcionando conforto térmico à população e reduzindo a temperatura média da cidade.Atualmente, diversos problemas acometem a arborização da cidade. Em geral, a estrutura do setor de arborização só consegue dar conta dos plantios demandados espontaneamente pela população através do canal de comunicação da Prefeitura. O maior desafio do município é a obtenção de mudas adequadas para o plantio. Na verdade, a cidade dispõe de dois viveiros municipais em funcionamento. Contudo, estes espaços apresentam uma insuficiente capacidade de produção, sendo incapazes de atender à crescente demanda por mudas. Esta limitação, em ambos os casos, se deve à insuficiência de recursos humanos, ferramentas e insumos para ampliação da produção. Além desses fatores, destaca-se também a falta de planejamento em relação às atividades de coleta de sementes, que embora deva idealmente ocorrerem árvores matrizes selecionadas e georreferenciadas, vem sendo realizada ainda de maneira básica e isolada.07/16/2021 01:47:15
