Summer brings high humidity, with daily high temperatures usually ranging from the upper 80s to lower 90s °F (31–34°C), and daily low temperatures usually from 70 to 75 °F (~22°C). Wilmington's industrial base includes electrical, medical, electronic and telecommunications equipment; clothing and apparel; food processing; paper products; nuclear fuel; and pharmaceuticals (including the HQ for PPD). Also important to Wilmington's economy is tourism due to its close proximity to the ocean and vibrant nightlife.
