Based on analysis results of space consumption in Montenegro which was is conducted of the purpose for the assessment of condition of spatial building for needs of planning sustainable development by 2030, the indicators of existing building, projected building, used construction area, population density of construction area, the consumption of construction area per habitant as well as defining spatial reserves within construction area. Such layered shown indicators enabled good quality insight in the spatial state and relatively precise indicated to greater or smaller deviations from desirable model of sustainable spatial development. As for the Capital city Podgorica, the analysis has shown that Podgorica with has population density of only 16.1 inhabitants per hectare compared to other centers, can be considered the settlement of small population density. Relatively small population density is a result of very wide defined construction sites which are in the event of the City of Podgorica are used 64.5% although being low share, it is still above the average of remaining cities in Montenegro. Following the existing, small population density of construction site and bearing in mind spatial reserves within construction site of settlements, a potential may be defined within adopted plans for about 46.239 new inhabitants. At the same time recently adopted Urban development Plan of the Capital City (2014) indicates on reserves of residential zones in adopted plans of detailed elaboration for new 400.000 inhabitants.
