Fue creado según la ley 4101 decretada el 10 de mayo de 1920. Magdalena del Mar tiene una superficie de 3,61 kilómetros cuadrados a una altitud de 27 m.s.n.m. 77° 04’ 13” de latitud y 12° 05’ 03” de longitud. Se sitúa dentro de la zona consolidada de la ciudad, limita al norte con los distritos de Pueblo Libre y Jesús María, al este con San Isidro, al sur con el Océano Pacífico y al oeste con San Miguel. La Municipalidad de Magdalena del Mar cuenta con su Plan Local de Desarrollo Concertado 2019-2030, el cual incluye 7 objetivos estratégicos que se alinean a los objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) al 2030, específicamente al objetivo 11: Ciudades y comunidades sostenibles y el objetivo 13: Acción por el Clima. Por tal motivo y compromiso en la mejora del distrito, se suscribió el Pacto Global de Alcaldes por el clima y la energía, comprometiéndose a implementar políticas y medidas para reducir las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, prepararse para los impactos del cambio climático, aumentar el acceso a la energía sostenible y el seguimiento al cumplimiento de estos objetivos. Por lo cual, se elaboró el “Plan local de acción climática de la Municipalidad distrital de Magdalena del Mar”. La visión del distrito se debe reconocer como un distrito seguro sostenible, competitivo e inclusivo.Algunos de nuestros principales objetivos es la Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres, contar con un inventario de especies arbóreas e incrementar el plantado de especies de árboles que requieran poca agua, Impulsar el uso de movilidad sostenible que permita descongestionar el parque automotor, manejo de los residuos sólidos, trabajo en conjunto con vecinos, comercios e instituciones en temas ambientales.07/16/2021 01:47:15

This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and 5 American regional councils, which are: Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metropolitan Council, Twin Cities; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Mid-America Regional Council.
