A paisagem do município é caracterizada por uma relativa irregularidade com áreas de vale que se estendem por todo o território e muitas vezes contrastam com pequenas formações rochosas, alinhadas com os principais rios. Com as suas fronteiras limitadas a norte pelo rio Cávado, a sul pelo conjunto de colinas que formam a Serra dos Picos (566m / ~ 1856pés) e a leste pela Serra dos Carvalhos (479m / 1571pés), a de Braga município, abre ao oeste para os municípios de Famalicão e Barcelos. O território se espalha do Nordeste para o Sudeste, seguindo os vales fluviais que cruzam suas terras, que, junto com outros cursos de menor tamanho, criaram duas plataformas. As áreas do vale são predominantes, mas não atingem grandes altitudes, variando de 20 a 570 metros, de modo que a exposição ao sol é, em geral, boa em quase todo o território. O tempo em Braga é favorecido pela influência do Atlântico devido aos ventos do oeste que são trazidos através dos principais vales, transportando grandes massas de ar húmido. Podemos, portanto, considerar que o clima da região é ameno e tem as quatro estações bem definidas.
