Cities are now responsible for the production of about 70% of Greenhouse Gases. The Municipality of Jesús María, within the framework of this reality and aligning itself with the Sustainable Development Objectives, has decided to adapt its model and agenda to adopt measures to improve its citizens' quality of life and the sustainability of the district. The Municipality seeks to reduce GHGs in the district, minimize its dependence on fossil fuels, improve its efficiency, and increase its resilience. The cost to local governments of not implementing strategies and deciding to change their agendas is increasing. The Municipality of Jesús María also understands that action implies having a plan that covers environmental aspects and social and even economic ones. In that sense, acting also means expanding the opportunities to promote the increase of green jobs, the whole team's innovation, and strengthening the link with the population, making them participate across the entire line of work (UN, 2020).In this context, The Climate Action Plan for Jesús María is an immense opportunity to join efforts and make Jesús María a sustainable, accessible, inclusive, and resilient district in Latin America and the world. The Climate Action Plan focuses on establishing Adaptation and Resilience measures as well as Mitigation measures, a roadmap to 2030. How is the Municipality of Jesús María preparing to reduce vulnerability to imminent climate change By focusing its strategies on pillars such as water responsibility and the conservation of green areas. What will the Municipality of Jesús María do to reduce the Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the whole territory Work to introduce a green economy, sustainable urban spaces, and initiate a change towards energy efficiency—everything, adaptation, and mitigation measures, with the population's clear commitment. | 07/16/2021 01:47:15 | |||

When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.
Please note that this dataset may contain data from cities or, in some instances, groups of cities at different administrative levels. This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and 5 American regional councils, which are: Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metropolitan Council, Twin Cities; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Mid-America Regional Council.
