The risks and vulnerabilities were assessed in city-wide level, not only by city governmental sectors. Also the prioritizing of the most serious climate phenomena were done. Also the prioritizing of the most urgent actions were done. The process was done in participatory way with citizens, stakeholders and management team partizipating. However, the assessment and plan concentrate on direct effects and not secundary climate change impacts in some other region which Still has impact on Lahti. | 07/16/2021 01:47:15

To date, the City has 9.7% of vehicles in it's fleet that are hybrid or electric vehicles. The City has already issued purchase orders for four new all-electric vehicles by the end of 2019. The City is planning to transition all vehicle types to alternative fuels where possible. For example, heavy duty trucks do not have an all-electric equivalent yet, so we are exploring biodiesel fuels as a stepping stone in the interim. | The City has just recently concluded its draft vulnerability and risk assessment with the NEMAC+FernLeaf group, and will be using this assessment to identify new metrics based strictly on adaptation efforts. The adaptation initiatives listed here were established in the Sustainability Action Plan and City Strategic Plan. | 07/16/2021 01:47:15

The City of Emeryville has been working closely with Alameda County’s StopWaste.org, which has already taken a lead role in developing strategies to divert waste and improve recycling and composting services. The CAP outlines a series of policies to reduce waste generation by increasing participation in County and City compost, recycle, and reuse programs; educating residents about the benefits of sustainable landscaping; and encouraging businesses to participate in the County Green Business program. The City has already adopted an ordinance requiring that restaurants and food vendors use compostable materials for all disposable food service-ware, a clear step toward achieving the waste reduction goal. Currently is working on a policy banning use of plastic straws in restaurants. | 07/16/2021 01:47:15

Please also select the most relevant assets or services that are affected by the climate hazard and provide a description of the impact. | 12 | Please describe the impacts experienced so far, and how you expect the hazard to impact in the future | 2 | The general trends observed indicate that, among other things, there are two impacts associated with climate change that may affect flood risk: changes in rainfall patterns and rising sea levels. Regarding the former, most projections indicate that there may be an increase in rainfall intensity and a greater concentration of extreme episodes. Increased rainfall intensity may cause certain areas of the city to flood, as it will increase the flow of circulating water and test the city's drainage system to its limits. The second aspect is higher sea levels, which may condition the functioning of the drainage system in extreme situations. Under extreme conditions, an increase in sea level would mean that the overflow channels would not work properly, causing higher water levels in the network that could cause overflow at the surface, and therefore flooding in the street. The risk of flooding would affect some areas of the city more than others. For current situations, the conclusion is that for rainfall with a return period of 10 years (T10), The drainage system can function correctly (although it functions under pressure in some sections), but the two future scenarios under analysis both forecast flooding in some locations. The results obtained by the RESCCUE project shows that intensity of heavy rainfall events will increase from 20 to 40 % depending on the climate change scenario considered, RCP 4.5 or RCP 8.5 respectively. | 07/16/2021 01:47:15

Description
This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains the full responses of publicly disclosing cities in 2020. To view the complete cities 2020 questionnaire guidance, including all questions asked in 2020, visit https://www.cdp.net/en/guidance/guidance-for-cities. Please contact cities@cdp.net if you have any questions.
When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.
Please note that this dataset may contain data from cities or, in some instances, groups of cities at different administrative levels. This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and 5 American regional councils, which are: Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metropolitan Council, Twin Cities; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Mid-America Regional Council.
