This is flood risk mapped for Fluvial (river), Sea Flooding, Surface Water (generally urban) and groundwater (water that issues from beneath the soil after heavy rainfall• We commissioned a funding identification tool, which uses all of the mapping layers outlined above and identifies “hotspots” based on certain criteria; the tool is linked to a spreadsheet which we can weight different criteria (infrastructure risk, residential risk, risk to tourism, risk to transport), run the tool and hotspots will appear across the county (together with a rough appraisal of potential flood defence grant in aid funding)• We have started to take the 30 or so priority areas outlined during the PFRA process and build community flood profiles, which details the source of flooding, potential impacts and potential solutions, this is an ongoing process.• With regards to Coastal Erosion, the coastal erosion lines of the UK are mapped nationally and these have been instrumental in informing the Shoreline Management Plan; https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/countryside/estuaries-rivers-and-wetlands/flood-risk/coastal-erosion-and-shoreline-management/shoreline-management-plans/. The SMP is broken into 3 epochs where different actions will need to be undertaken around our 1,000km+ of coast to reduce vulnerability.• From the shoreline management plan, vulnerable costal communities have been identified and the Environment Agency is creating profiles of those communities, similar to the community flood risk profiles detailed above.• We keep records of previous flood events through the FORT system -Flood Online Reporting Tool, where people can report flood events and we also write section 19 reports; https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/countryside/estuaries-rivers-and-wetlands/flood-risk/flood-investigation-reports/, for significant flood events.
